Police are seen on scene as they raid a number of houses in Sydney’s west.
THE brother of slain underworld figure Wally Ahmad has been arrested in raids targeting alleged drug suppliers in Sydney’s southwest.
Youssef Ahmad was arrested during a raid at his Punchbowl home this morning. He is the younger sibling of the standover man, who was gunned down at a Bankstown cafe last month.
Organised Crime Squad detectives remain on site at Gowrie Rd where they are continuing to search two properties.
The raids are being carried out as part of a joint Australian Federal Police, NSW Crime Commission and Organised Crime Squad probe into drugs.
Police said two men, aged 27 and 30, were assisting with inquiries.
The arrest relates to the alleged importation and supply of drugs in Sydney.
Another man was stopped by police after he fled one of the raided homes in his van. He was eventually stopped by police from Highway Patrol.
The man put his hands on his head while police searched the van and a bag before letting him go.
