University Health has successfully connected a patient with his family after asking for the public’s help identifying the man.

“This makes for a 100 percent success rate,” a University Health official said in an email. “Every time in the past 18 years that we have had to ask news media for help for a patient in this way, (the media  has) helped, and family has come forward. We are deeply grateful, as is the family.”

The person, a Hispanic man who appears to be in his 40s, was brought in by ambulance on Nov. 18 after apparently being hit by a motor vehicle. He was awake and “responding intermittently to commands,” a hospital spokesperson said, but officials had been unable to learn his identity until they released his photo on Thursday.
