Rapper and actor Snoop Dogg is job for a protest of a new “Roots” miniseries in an expletive-filled amicable media post.
In a video on Instagram and Twitter, Snoop Dogg, 44, rails about a reconstitute of “Roots”.
The reconstitute is formed on ABC’s landmark 1977 miniseries of a same name, taken from author Alex Haley’s 1976 novel, that explored a horrors of American slavery, reported USA Today.
“I’m ill of this. … How a (expletive) they gonna put Roots on Memorial Day?” Snoop Dogg asked in a selfie video.
“They usually going to keep violence that (expletive) into a heads as to how they did us, huh?”
He takes difference to a description of labour in “Roots” and a film “12 Years A Slave”, that won a best design Oscar in 2014 and a best ancillary singer endowment for Lupita Nyong’o.
“I don’t know America. They usually wish to keep display a abuse that we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago. But theory what? We’re holding a same abuse,” he said.
“Think about that part. When we all going to make a (expletive) array about a success that black folks is having. The usually success we have is ‘Roots’ and ’12 Years A Slave’?”
Snoop Dogg says he won’t watch “Roots” and calls on other African-Americans to follow suit.
“Let’s emanate a possess (expletive) formed on today. How we live and how we enthuse people today. Black is what’s real,” he said.
