GLOVERSVILLE — The Gloversville Enlarged School District has placed Assistant Superintendent Steven Schloicka on paid administrative leave.
GESD Superintendent David Halloran said on Thursday that Schloicka was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an inquiry.
Halloran said he could not provide further details regarding the personnel matter and did not know how long the inquiry might take.
“He remains a district employee, this is fairly standard operating procedure for school districts,” Halloran said.
Schloicka was absent from Tuesday’s regular GESD Board of Education meeting after being place on leave earlier that day Halloran said.
As of the 2017-18 school year, Schloicka received an annual salary of $140,454 as assistant superintendent according to school budget documents on the GESD website.
Schloicka has been the assistant superintendent since 2012 after serving as the district business official beginning in 2007.
