No travel advised in western Minnesota

And Lac qui Parle County public safety officials have done the same for county roads there until 8 a.m. Friday.

MnDOT said in a news release that high winds and blowing snow are causing whiteout conditions. State snowplows will continue to operate, but motorists are advised not to travel until conditions improve.

However, Lac qui Parle County has pulled plows from roads there for the night and crews will begin clearing roadways Friday morning, the county announced in a news release. Visibility is becoming extremely poor, and wind and snowfall remain strong. During the overnight hours, emergency response may be delayed or prolonged in Lac qui Parle County due to poor road conditions and adverse weather circumstances.
