Independence Day and its special effects looked successful in casting a spell in viewers on day one of its release. A sequel to the 1996 hit, Resurgence, as the current installment is named follows the pattern the usual plot pattern of Mankind v/s Extra-Solar threat.

A multiplex that we checked into on day one saw close to 50% occupancy for the first show with majority of audience comprising of college going youngsters. A few who we spoke to looked mighty impressed with the turn of events in the film. The plot and performances were successful in keeping them hooked and booked throughout the entire duration of the film.

What however left everyone pleased as punch were the high-class VFX effects coupled with 3D effect which viewers felt were absolutely top class in its execution. They were however divided in their views when asked to compare Resurgence with its 1996 prequel with some opining that the earlier one was the better film.

With Resurgence managing to grab maximum screen numbers in theatres across India and producers having distributed the dubbed regional versions of the movie in various territories, one can expect this Hollywood flick to make a killing at the box-office in the days to come especially since competition from its Hindi counterparts is only in the form of Raman Raghav 2.0.
