LOVE LIGHTS: This year, as in past years, thousands of loved ones will be represented as lights on the trees in front of HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital.
For a donation of $10 per name, people can reserve a light of remembrance or recognition of a loved one. A white light represents a deceased adult; blue, deceased child; red or green, a living relative or friend; and gold, a living or deceased veteran or active military.
Lighted tree topper sponsorships are available for $100, and Nativity sponsorships are available for $250.
Donations must be received by noon on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and the names of loved ones submitted by the deadline will be listed in a tribute in the Leader-Telegram on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Submission forms are available at the hospital’s main lobby information desk, gift shop, cafeteria, registration, radiology/imaging, family waiting center, cancer center, The Healing Place and volunteer services. The form also is available at tinyurl.com/y8ypqld9.
The Love-Light Christmas Tree outdoor lighting ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the hospital chapel, 900 W. Clairemont Ave., with the outdoor tree lighting to follow. Refreshments will be served in the lobby starting at 4:45 p.m.
All proceeds from this event will support the ministry of The Healing Place, a free grief support center.
