People are heading to Huntsville International Airport today to travel back home after the holidays.
According to the TSA, the day after Christmas is one of the busiest travel days of the season. The TSA expects to screen nearly 3 million people at airports today, but Huntsville International Airport says they are not seeing the large crowds just yet.
Huntsville International Airport Public Relations Assistant, Megan Brantley, said, “We will have some travelers that are going to be coming back through. They’re coming back home after Christmas, some that will be leaving, but right now, it is just a small number of leisure travelers until those business travelers come back.”
Most people will drive to their destinations, but the number of people hopping on a plane is expected to rise 4.2% from last year.
If you are traveling by air today, you can expect the longest lines from 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
