Disturbing footage shows employees from Changzhi Rural Commercial Bank being publicly spanked for poor work performance.
IF YOU thought a passive-aggressive email from your boss was the worst punishment you could get, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Disturbing footage has emerged on Chinese social media channel Weibo of employees from Changzhi Rural Commercial Bank being publicly spanked for poor work performance.
According to the People’s Daily, a group of workers were brought on stage for their supposed poor work performance.
They were then publicly asked, “Why are you ranked lowest today?” and responded with, “Because I have not exceeded myself”.
The trainer then moved up and down the line, hitting them on the bottom with what appears to be a bat or large stick.
Employees sitting and watching the ordeal can be seen turning their heads away in horror, cringing as each employee member is struck.
Here is the video.
After the video went viral, trainer Jiang Yang – who is the offender in the video – took to Weibo to apologise.
He said beating is “a training model (he) has tried for years”.
The BBC reported two executives at the bank have been suspended, including the bank president.
The People’s Daily reported that the bank has stopped the training session, with discussions in place for compensation for the spanked employees.
Bet your boss is looking pretty good to you now.
