Class 12 Science: Higher studies and career options

Choosing a right career option after 12th is a tough job for every student, for one has to keep in mind his/her interest as well as the future returns. For the students of the Science stream, there is no lack of Courses to opt from after 12th.
The students of Science, both Medical (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and Non- Medical (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics), can opt for the career options not only from the Science background but from the Commerce and Humanities ones too.

Students who have Medical in 12th usually land up taking medical courses and the Non- Medical students take up Engineering after 12th, though there are numerous other options also.

Science students can choose their career options from the below list :

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)

This is a 3 years Undergraduate course for the Science stream students after 12th with a minimum of 50% in the Science subjects in the boards. Students can appear in entrance exams like Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) etc, for admissions into B.Sc.

Engineering/Bachelors in Technology (B.Tech)

B. Tech is a 4 years Undergraduate program after Class 12th for the Science students. To pursue Engineering degree (BE) or the
B.Tech degree, the students need to have a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics respectively from an authorized examination board. can be done in various fields including-
Mechanical Engineering,
Biotech Engineering, Software Engineering,
Computer Science Engineering,
Engineering Physics,
Electronics and Communication Engineering. Some entrances exams for B.Tech includes Joint Entrance Test (JEE), Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) etc

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)

This is another Undergraduate course for Science students. It requires a minimum of 50% in Class 12th with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects. This program includes planning, designing, and constructing buildings along with other physical structures.

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) is an Undergraduate degree in medicine and surgery, to become a certified Doctor. To pursue MBBS, the candidate must have passed Class XII or any other equivalent exam in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, with at least 60% marks in aggregate. Students can give Entrance examinations like NEET Undergraduate, All India Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS (AIIMS MBBS) etc., for admissions into this. After completing MBBS the students can get employed in the hospitals and healthcare centers as consultants, physicians, assistance in critical care cases and much more than the medical industry comprises of.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharma)

B. Pharma is a 4 years Undergraduate Course after 12th for students who want to make their career in the field of Pharmacy. Students need to have a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology from an authorized board. Students can appear in Entrance exams like Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET), Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) etc for admissions into B.Pharma.
