CHAMPION — The Champion Board of Education on Monday accepted the retirement-resignation of longtime superintendent Pamela Hood, who announced she will be leaving at the end of her current contract on Aug. 1, 2019.
Hood has served as Champion superintendent for more than 25 years.
Board President Jim Scher said the board has developed a plan and timeline to begin a search for “a high quality, dynamic individual” to next lead Champion schools. The board has contracted with the Trumbull County Educational Service Center to post the position regionally.
Scher said the board hopes to have a superintendent selected by early March.
